Louder is not always Clearer
6 March @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Gleaston Village welcomes you to their show, which has been provided via Arts out West.
This show is accessible to D/deaf, hard of hearing audiences with the use of spoken English, some British Sign Language and creative captions. “An autobiographical journey of a deaf person trapped in a hearing world” Meet Jonny: teacher, father and football fan. He’s an artist, a campaigner and he’s deaf. He wishes he could sing and he loves to dance, but he can’t hear the music unless the bass is turned right up. Jonny grew up in a hearing family, surrounded by fear of the stigma of disability. Louder is Not Always Clearer tells Jonny’s moving, funny story of disconnection, difference and desperation to belong. This one-man show is a starkly honest portrayal of a man seemingly confident, outgoing and popular, who is inwardly vulnerable and, at times, isolate.
