Due to the popularity of the August Ride it sold out however we are happy to offer a 2nd date!
South Lakes Horsemanship will be hosting their 4th Annual Summer Fun Ride in the stunning surroundings of Pennington and Furness for horse owners near and far. Trek up high above the Hoad monument and enjoy the amazing scenery which extends to a glimpse of Coniston waters.
A fully marked route, easy to follow so no map reading skills necessary! A long and short option available to suit riders of different abilities
Start times between 9am – 11am for the long route
Start times between 9am – 12pm for the short route

Terms and Conditions:
Entry Fee: Entry fee is a £15 non-refundable payment which must be paid prior to the ride to confirm your place. This can be paid via cash or bank transfer to Charlie Hogan. Please use the contact details on the booking form for further information on payment. Entry fee’s include light refreshments at the Memorial Hall and there will be hot water and toilet facilities available.
Health and Safety: The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all officials / stewards.
Dress Code: Helmets must conform to safety standards and must be worn correctly fastened at all times when mounted and appropriate footwear worn. An item of fluorescent clothing MUST be worn during the ride for the safety of both yourself and your horse. Due to the unpredictable weather in Cumbria, it is advised that warm layers / waterproofs are brought for the comfort of the rider.
Route: The route will be marked clearly to enable you to follow without map reading skills necessary. The route will consist of a mixture of road-work and bridleways and there will be a number of gates that must be opened. Please ensure that all gates you open are closed behind you to respect the land owner and local farm / wild life. Although your interaction with vehicles will be minimal, please be mindful of drivers that give you a wide berth and thank them whenever possible. As this is a fun ride and we would like you to enjoy this time with your horse, please be mindful of other nervous riders when passing them and ensure you provide them with sufficient clearance.
Photography: Please feel free to bring cameras and helmet cameras on the ride for personal use as the views are breath-taking. There will be photographs and film taken by the organiser and his team, which will be published on social media. If you do not wish to be on the images / footage then please let a member of the team know on the day.
Insurance: All riders must have their own third party insurance and ride at their own risk. The organiser do not accept any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury, or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land or any other person or property whatsoever caused by their negligence, breach of contract or any other way whatsoever.
Transport: Vehicles / Boxes parked in the local area are parked at their own risk. Some parking is available at the Pennington Memorial Hall and local area. Please park responsibly for the benefit of the local residents.
RESERVATION OF RIGHT: The organiser has the right to cancel the ride, alter the advertised times or refuse entry.
