Recently featured in Zone Magazine as one of their “One’s To Watch”, Strike One is an award-winning DJ and producer who has made it his mission to spread his sound far and wide from his small town roots in Cumbria. Last year started out with him successfully entering and winning a national DJ competition hosted by one of the largest drinks companies in the UK, WKD. Success in the competition lead to him playing at a sold out Kendal Calling festival, opening up for Richy Ahmed, Route 94 and Redlight. This momentum continued throughout the rest of the year and his talent on the decks were rewarded once again as he won a second successive national DJ competition and was sent to make his international debut at Rise Festival in the French alps on a line up which included industry giants such as Camelphat, Annie Mac and Sonny Fodera. As the new year broke, the same pace continued and he travelled down to the countries capital to play his debut set in London at the Publican Awards and then flew over to France once again to play the main stage at a sold out Snowboxx festival, sharing the stage with Craig David, Kelli-Leigh and Shapes. An invite to play at the official closing party for Brighton Music Conference lead to him playing at The Arch with house pioneers David Morales and Marshall Jefferson. With a style inspired by masters of the craft such as Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez and DJ EZ, he has become known for his energetic and relentless style of mixing, able to transfer his passion for the music onto the dance floor. As a producer, he’s been steadily working away in the studio and last year saw the release of his first three original singles. His debut EP has been picked up by popular northern label, Koda Recordings, and is aptly named “The Ripple Effect”, because it’s time for Strike One to make waves! After spending years nurturing his skill on the local club circuit, in 2018 he launched his own club night named Elements in his home town of Barrow-in-Furness. Now known as the stand out event in the calendar, Elements regularly features artists from up and down the country as well as giving local artists their time to shine. His relentless drive doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon and his passion for the art form and hours spent in the studio means that there will be plenty of chance to hear the sound of Strike One in the near future!
