The Crucible – Ulverston Outsiders

29 March, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Ulverston Outsiders present Arthur Miller’s classic and cautionary tale, capturing the hysteria and terror of the Salem Witch Trials.

Salem. 1692. The girls are caught dancing in the woods. The witch hunter is summoned. And a toxic mix of vengeance and fear is about to send a small community to the gallows.

Arthur Miller’s The Crucible is one of the most popular plays in the English language, which still resonates with audiences the world over. This production will transport you to seventeenth-century Massachusetts, where witchcraft is feared and suspicion comes knocking at every door. The audience will experience the rising tension as relationships strain, old rivalries surface and the play escalates towards its tragic and cautionary end.

This production is presented by The Ulverston Outsiders, who first hoped to perform it in April 2020 and are delighted to be returning to The Coro stage at last. A full and talented cast is led by director Steve Carrick, who has previously performed the role of John Proctor to great acclaim.

The balcony capacity for this event is unrestricted.

A short note on safety

Your safety and comfort continues to be our top priority. This event capacity is limited to maintain space in the auditorium, while all Coro staff and volunteers will continue to wear face coverings. Although no longer mandatory, we encourage all visitors to wear face coverings when indoors, keep a safe distance from others, use hand sanitisers and wash hands regularly, and check in with the NHS Test and Trace app if able to do so.
