Two Hilltop Tarns and a Craggy Wood – Official Lake District Guided Walk

Start point: Wilf’s Café, Mill Yard, Staveley
Length: 11.2km (7 miles) with 413m (1355ft) of ascent
Time: 5hours (approx.)
A moderate grade walk that begins with a climb out of Staveley through Craggy Wood and onto Potter Fell. The route passes Potter Tarn and Gurnal Dubs both reservoirs which were created to supply water to the paper mill at Burneside before descending back into the valley and back to Staveley.
Paths are generally good but there are some sections that will be muddy and/or slippery in poor weather. There are moderate ascents and descents on the walk and there are a number of ladder stiles on the route.
Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather and bring a packed lunch.
