Walla Crag – Official Lake District Guided Walk
3 September @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Start point: Keswick Tourist Information Centre, Moot Hall, Keswick
Length: 11km (7miles) with 305m (1,000ft) of ascent
Time: 5 hours (approx.)
A moderate graded walk up to the viewpoint of Walla Crag, a Wainwright fell. Returning to Keswick via Ashness Bridge and the lakeshore.
Starting from the centre of Keswick, the walk passes through woodlands before a steep climb up to the summit of Walla Crag (379m/1,243ft). The views of Derwent Water and the fells beyond are magnificent.
After enjoying the views from the top, the walk heads downhill to the famous Ashness Bridge, an iconic spot for photos. A short climb back uphill, is followed by a long descent leads to Great Wood, where the walk crosses the road to pick up the lakeshore path that leads back to Keswick.
Paths are generally good, but there are some sections which are stony, with tree roots and others that will be muddy in poor weather.
Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather and bring a packed lunch.
