SUMMARY:Furness RDA Sponsored Ride
DESCRIPTION:In the UK\, the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) enriches the lives of young people through the unique bond between people and horses. Each year\, RDA supports over 39\,000 disabled children and adults. \nRDA’s innovative programmes improve mobility\, boost physical health and mental wellbeing\, build confidence\, and teach new skills. This is all made possible by over 13\,700 volunteers\, 1\,700 qualified coaches\, 2\,800 equines and more than 450 RDA groups. \nAt Furness RDA Group\, we have been delivering riding therapy\, achievement and enjoyment to local young people with a variety of disabilities\, for over 40 years. Activities are based at Seaview Riding School\, Walney. \nWe are an independent local charity\, supported by a team of brilliant volunteers and all our costs are met through fundraising activities and donations from kind individuals and organisations. \nFurness RDA’s major annual fundraising event takes place on 20th September; a scenic ride around the Holker Estate\, including parts of the estate that are normally closed to the public.
