Old picture postcards of the Ulverston area, published by Lilywhite, Sankey, Friths, Atkinson & Pollitt, Stengel, Sanderson & Dixon, Tuck, Norcliffe, Salmon, Valentine, Photoway, and other local and national photographers. Many of these were produced over the short period between 1902 and 1918, due to the recent availability of inexpensive equipment and materials to print “real photographic postcards”, and the consequent public enthusiasm for collecting the postcards.
