General Website Usage

All businesses, events and venues are listed at the sole discretion of Ulverston Ltd. We reserve the right to edit, reject or withdraw the listing of any submitted business, event or venue without explanation.

We endeavour to provide up-to-date and accurate information, but we will not accept liability for the accuracy or currency of the information provided by third parties or for the content on any linked or related web sites.

Listings of businesses or events on this website or in the newsletter should not be taken as an endorsement of that business or event by Ulverston Ltd.

Information published on this website may change at any time without notice.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of published information. We will not accept liability for any consequences arising from errors in published information. Before attending any event or incurring any significant expense, we recommend you confirm dates, locations, and other important information relating to the event at the event organiser’s website or by contacting them directly.

Forms and Mailing Lists

We manage a number of forms and mailing lists relating to Ulverston news and events. We will safeguard your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and will only use it for the purpose intended.

Public Notices

Public notices relating to South Cumbria may be published on the Ulverston News website and in the email newsletter.

Organisers should place the notice in sufficient time to enable any statutory requirements to be met, noting that the email newsletter is normally published weekly, every Saturday morning, as listed in the Community Calendar.

Advertising businesses and events

Local businesses and event organisers must provide true and accurate information about themselves, their organisations, and their events.

Advertisers must comply with applicable legislation, such as copyright law, and ensure that they have appropriate publication rights for any information and images that they supply.

Advertisers should ask us to update their published information as soon as practicable if circumstances change, particularly if an event is postponed or cancelled.

Newsletter Articles

Authors or suppliers of articles for our Ulverston News email newsletter should only submit articles and photos where they own the copyright.

We will prioritise publicising events in the newsletter that are already detailed in the Ulverston News Community Calendar.

We reserve the right to edit submitted articles, to correct errors or to fit them into the space available. We will never intentionally change the meaning of a submitted article without informing the author or supplier.

We will acknowledge the source of submitted articles and photographs, unless specifically asked not to.

We will link to external websites where appropriate, and would request that if you are the website owner, you also include a link from your website to ulverston.com.
