Flood Resilience
Ulverston Resilience Group and Ulverston Town Council have been working with Cumbria CVS, Westmorland & Furness Council, Natural England, Environment Agency, and other partners to arrange an event to discuss flood resilience. We would particularly welcome property owners/occupiers whose properties are at risk of flooding or who have previously been affected by flooding, so that you can share your concerns and experiences, and learn what can be done to help mitigate the risk of future flooding.
The event comprises:
- An information and engagement session on the flood prevention and mitigation measures that are planned for Ulverston
- A session to map and plan the activities of the Ulverston Resilience Group in response to flood risks
- A session for farmers and other landowners to look at riparian responsibility, permitting, and soil management to assist rainwater absorption
Lunch will be provided, with dietary preferences accommodated. There is a strictly limited number of places available. Booking is essential. A limited amount of free car parking is available, so please car share (or walk) if possible.
