Hoad Monument Open
The Sir John Barrow Monument, known as the Hoad Monument, is normally open on Sunday afternoons between Easter Sunday and the end of October. It is also open on Bank Holidays, and on other occasions by arrangement. The flag flies at the top of Hoad Hill when the monument is open. Opening times are subject to the weather, availability of volunteers, and other factors.
You can climb up to a gallery level, or all the way up to the top, but be aware that the stone stairway is steep and narrow. It is currently free to visit, but a donation towards its upkeep would be appreciated. Hot and cold drinks and a few snacks are available for purchase during opening hours.
