Inspiring Young Women
Cumbria-Westmorland Federation of WIs (CWFWI) is delighted to invite you to a lively and inspiring event bringing together WI members, friends, and some remarkable young twenty-first-century women from across our community. Join us to meet women from Young Farmers, engineering, small businesses, Girl Guiding, and the public health sector, all keen to share their stories.
Our speakers will talk openly about the challenges they’ve faced in building their careers, and how belonging to organisations such as Girl Guiding has helped develop their confidence, determination, and resilience. You’ll hear from Gemma of ‘Blossom Rose’, a florist based in Dalton-in-Furness, Cecilia from Cumbria Girl Guides, Georgia from Cumbria Young Farmers, Hayley, an engineer, and Wendy Thompson, a midwife – an inspiring and diverse panel not to be missed.
While opportunities for young women today may appear broader than in decades past, they also face unique pressures, from the impact of social media to the rising cost of living and the struggle to find affordable housing. This event offers a chance to better understand their experiences, celebrate their achievements, and explore how the WI can support, encourage, and connect with the next generation.
The day begins with a relaxed brunch, followed by the talks and plenty of time to chat, meet new people, and enjoy good company. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make new connections and see how the WI can be a welcoming friend and partner to these inspirational young women.
Please book by Friday 20th February via the website at cwfwi.org or simply call the office on 01539 720921.
We’d love you to come along and be part of this uplifting and thought-provoking day. We look forward to seeing you.
