Malt Kiln 80th Anniversary
We are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Malt Kiln being given to the Bardsea villagers for recreation and education, by Edwin Leach Hartley, on Saturday 18th April.
Come along in the afternoon and enjoy homemade cake, tea, and coffee, from 2pm to 4pm. Experience the newly renovated hall, with our new solar panels, insulation, new windows, and shiny new front door. Also, we are holding a small exhibition about the donor of the hall, Edwin Leach Hartley.
We would like to express our gratitude to all our generous funders: National Lottery Community Fund through ACRE, Acre Platinum Jubilee Village Hall Fund, Baywind Energy, Westmorland and Furness South Lakeland Locality Board, Frieda Scott Trust, Ulverston Town Council CGP Fund, Urswick, Bardsea and Stainton Parish Council, and the big-hearted donations from the villagers and our supporters.
In addition, we are holding a ceilidh, from 7pm to 11pm, with The Lakes Ceilidh Band. Pie and peas, with vegetarian and gluten free options available.
